A year later...

Funny that I wrote my first and only post almost exactly a year ago. As in every year, this year has been full of new experiences. I won't give an over view of the last year (or will I), but I wanted to start keeping everyone a little better. Billie Jo, your email yesterday("Sorry, Ten, you can check back in now!") inspired me to write this morning. The idea was to wake up and go to work early, so I'll keep it short and sweet!

This time is exciting, confusing and more than a little difficult to say the least. I am excited and very nervous about my impending move to Tanzania, but when you see pictures like the one below...like wow.

But then you see pictures like this...
which is of the city where I'll be living, it gets a bit scary.

You can guess that it's emotional to move and to leave all of my friends. And Cobus.

I want to report; however, not complain, so I'll give you a quick run down on what I've been up to lately.

Since Munich has suddenly leaped into summer,
we've had a few BBQs along the riverside - how Müncheners to spend their weekends. That and the beergarden, which was where I celebrated my birthday with my friends.

That's my former roommate, Mike.

The topper, though, was going to Paris to see the French Open, my birthday gift from Cobus. The weather wasn't fantastic, but nonetheless, it was a wonderful weekend. Paris is unbeatable, as was the day spent watching expert tennis. I only wish I could have played - I was so surprised that they didn't call me down from the stands!

We've also gone for our "pre-season" hike near the Walchensee, a phenomenal, yet coooooold lake about an hour's drive south of Munich.

Ah well, so much for going to work early...

I just want to say that it's not all fun, though. Just look at my room as I was packing for the shipping company.

That was upsetting. And what I didn't ship, I either have to sell, give away or take with me in a suitcase, which is also stressful and upsetting. I have about two pairs of shoes to wear and about 10 other articles of clothing.

I have to go now! Dang!

I am thinking about all of you and will send you a more personal email soon.
